Are QMECEU.com courses approved for Level 1 CMA continuing education?

QMECEU.com courses are approved by the DWC Medical Unit. QMECEU.com courses do not however have specific approval by any Medical Board of California accrediting agencies. However, we have reports that the Medical Board of California has granted approval for our courses on a case by case basis. We suggest phoning the California Medical Board and requesting such a one off approval.

Business and Professions Code §2190-2191 approved by the Licensing Program for continuing education credit include: programs accredited by the California Medical Association (CMA); the American Medical Association; the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME); programs which qualify for prescribed credit from the American Academy of Family Physicians; and other programs offered by other organizations and institutions acceptable to the Division.

As our courses are approved by the DWC Medical Unit, the Medical Board of California may allow our QME course hours under the  “… other programs offered by other organizations and institutions acceptable to the Division.” provision.

Again, while we have had physicians report that the Board has allowed our QME course hours, we have no specific approval with the Board. Please contact the Medical Board to request "one off" approval.

While other State Boards do accept DWC Medical Unit approved course hours, the CMA does not at this time specifically accept hours approved by the DWC. We recommend phoning the CMA and requesting approval on a case by case basis.

QMECEU.com courses are approved by the California Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) Medical Unit. Our Continuing Education Provider number #1240. While our courses do not have specific approval with the California Medical Association, our courses are approved by the California DWC Medical Unit and fulfill the DWC requirements for reappointment as a QME.

The course contents include topics surrounding medical legal issue dispute resolution, including patient examination procedures, causation of industrial injury, physical impairment rating and apportionment issues.
